THE GILL HOUSE

The house is a three bedroom house in a conservation area. Part of a larger urban masterplan of housing, this house was the first to be built. Designed over three storeys double and triple height spaces, open plan living and external balconies. All these features provide adaptable living spaces, also incorporating passive environmental stragies reducing energy costs whilst still maximising glazing, natural light and framed views.

SHINGLE HOUSE

This project epitomises a sensitive and contemporary intervention into historic Woodhall Spa, a victorian spa town in Lincolnshire. The materials and massing compliment the large dwelling originally designed by Architect Adolphus Came in the mid 19th century. The new extension is north facing and optimises the daylight into the deep plan of the house. The concept for the project is to connect to the garden and create a dramatic contrast to the existing house internally.

MUSIC STUDIO

This is a single storey extension to a home of a music producer and musician. The project inludes the multifunction performance space with projection screen. The relationship between the garden and in the interior space is very important as the client enjoys jamming outside! The client brief was to maximise the area of a wedge shaped site, maximise the use of light and take advantage of the garden.

LORDSHIP LANE

James Dale of ADSDF was appointed to undertake the design and of this 4 storey Victorian town house in the Lordship Park conservation area in Stoke Newington. Works undertaken in two phases. The design reveals the historic fabric of the building while restoring the original victorian features, maintaining and enhancing the original character of the Property. The extension is created using simple forms to compliment the original mass of the House and constructed from rough black brick to visually separate the new extension from the original house.

THE JONES HOUSE

This is a house built in the 1990's that is currently under renovation. It is part of a larger masterplanned scheme, five other houses designed by ADSDF sit along the narrow site, nestled into the tree tops.

THE BICYCLE HOUSE

This is a large addition to a Victorian house in one of Lincolns conservation areas. The project included extensive demolition and the client brief was to create a large living space totaly connected to the garden. The large glazing opens to a covered terrace leading to the leafy garden. Internally the kitchen was completely refurbished and utility space and workshop were incorportated.

THE STUDIO

The studio is designed as a live work space sited in a back garden of a large terraced house. Designed as a compact work space, it includes a compact kitchen and bathroom, with a steep pitch on the roof to allow for an exciting interior

NELSON STREET

This project was a full refurbishment of a mid 19th century three storey victorian house. Bringing contemporary details into the interior whilst celebrating the existing fabric of the building was very important. We retained original features, maximised the floor plan and opened up loft spaces to create a sumptuous bathroom and kitchen. Storage in this house was very important and we designed bespoke furniture throughout.

BARLINGS LANE HOLIDAY CHALETS

Barlings Lane holiday chalets and fishing lakes include 26 chalets, lakes and landscape design including extensive tree planting strategy. Careful consideration had to be given to the layout of the chalets, materials, lighting and planting.
