Trees please! Architecture and nature
Increasingly we need to think about how we design so that architecture and nature work together to create better places for us to live in and for nature to thrive in. We all have memories where trees play a key role. We have sat under them, climbed them, picked fruit from them or decorated them!
When you think about your home the garden will be a main feature. We need to think about how we connect the two and how we use planting to enhance, shield and provide for us. Trees are used in design to shade in the summer and let light through in the winter. They protect us from views and give us privacy. Trees provide us with fruit, so they are functional and beautiful.
When we design we work with our talented garden designer, Samantha Snowden Swales to help you think about these things. We are not only award winning Architects, we are have also won a gold medal at RHS Chelsea, a Gold Medal at the Harrogate show and installed an innovative garden at the Sheffield Botanical Gardens.
Also, we have to remember that we can make all parts of a building from timber! Trees are brilliant!
On our walk today we were in awe of the variety of trees springing into life. The diversity of textures, colours and sizes got our creative juices flowing! If you have ideas about your garden, no matter how big or small get in touch for some advise!
